“LIVES SAVED” BY GIVING TIME
HOW TO GIVE TIME
Some of the best moments of a Rotarian’s life come from the participation in Rotary Club events, such as Meetings, Service Projects and Fundraisers.
There are several ways to find out what Club events/fundraisers are happening around you. You can check the Upcoming Events calendar on the home page of our website frequently for information on Rotary Club events/fundraisers. Just click on the activity to get more information and to sign up to help. You can also go directly to each District 5180 Rotary Club’s website for more information.
Also, our Service Director sends out to our membership a SignUp.Com link via email as events are updated/added to our calendar. These projects are also listed in our bi-weekly newsletter with the SignUp.Com link attached.
Here's how you can earn your 40 hours of service:
CLUB MEETINGS - provide education on community issues, Rotary programs and international projects. Typically, there is a fee for the meal served (breakfast, lunch or dinner), so be prepared to pay for that when you arrive.

CLUB FUNDRAISERS - Another great way to help further the local Rotary Club’s program efforts in the local community while meeting new people and having a great time doing it. Most Rotary Clubs are excited to have additional volunteers help at their events. All Rotary Clubs will gladly sell you tickets to their events or help you be a sponsor.

If you are not finding good opportunities through the Clubs nearest you, you might try doing some Self-Directed Service.
SELF-DIRECTED SERVICE - Another way that Passport Rotarians save lives is by giving of their time to a cause in the community that they are concerned or passionate about! It is a great way to get those community service hours in and reach out to others by representing Rotary in a way consistent with the Rotary brand. A few examples might be:
- Leading a Scouting Troop
- Serving on a local Board of Directors
- Volunteering at a local school or other non-profit organizations
- Donating Blood in the name of Rotary Passport
PARTICIPATE IN COMMUNITY SERVICE WHERE EVER THE NEED IS AND YOUR PASSION TAKES YOU
