We are 9 months into the 2017-18 Rotary year. With only three months left in my Term, on July 1st current President-Elect Carol Langley will be officially taking over as our new President and Leigh-Ann Reinero will be stepping into her shoes as our President-Elect. Carol has an amazing year planned for our Club. During my year as your President, Carol has worked closely with me in shaping the future of our Club- it’s been like finding a great dance partner and we didn’t even have to take a single lesson. Our new name: Rotary Club of Greater Sacramento Passport One.
Yes, we are the first Passport Club in the WORLD and our name recognizes this accomplishment. Our concept is so unique and well received, it is being copied, mimicked and replicated and, might well be the Rotary Club of the future. YOU have all made this very first Passport Club, OUR Club, the success that it is today. Give yourselves a round of applause!

‘Thank you’ goes out to Alice Perez and her husband Kyle
for hosting Customs at their lovely home.
We had our second Customs meeting and it was a tremendous success. Once we reviewed how to use Clubrunner and submit service hours the real fun began! We played a very competitive round of Rotary ‘Family Feud’ led by our own Richard Dawson (a.k.a. Eric James) and was a lot of fun and laughs.
Even if you are not new to the Club or Rotary, you should join us at the next one. It is great way to meet the new members, socialize with some veterans, learn some facts about Rotary and Passport One all while having a lot of fun.
ROTARY CLUB OF ROSEVILLE THANKS PASSPORT FOR OUR HELP!
Thank you to everyone for all your assistance at the Rotary Club of Roseville's Seafood Dinner on March 24th! What a fun night working hard helping in the kitchen, greeting and checking in guests, pouring and serving drinks, and serving food . If you were there for the entertainment, you experienced a fantastic show by performance artist David Garabaldi!
To see the amazing pictures of the art created by David Garabaldi as well as Passport members having a great night helping out, continue reading.
What a great night we had helping Rise Against Hunger and the Rotary Club of Citrus Heights package meals! With over 80 volunteers helping, we packaged 17,000 meals in two hours and then celebrated with root beer floats! A huge Congratulations to club member Jim Quinney for another successful meal packaging event. Thanks also to Roxanne Snyder, Greg Dixon, and Leigh-Ann Reinerofor coming out to help!

It is with great sadness to announce that Past District Governor Hal Shipley passed away recently due to complications from a stroke. Hal served as District Governor in 2002-2003. He was a fine leader and was currently serving as president of the Rotary Club of Pocket/Greehaven. He had many friends in our Rotary family, and we are all sad to hear this news.
