Greetings Fellow Passport One Members!

We are 9 months into the 2017-18 Rotary year.  With only three months left in my Term, on July 1st current President-Elect Carol Langley will be officially taking over as our new President and Leigh-Ann Reinero will be stepping into her shoes as our President-Elect.  Carol has an amazing year planned for our Club.  During my year as your President, Carol has worked closely with me in shaping the future of our Club- it’s been like finding a great dance partner and we didn’t even have to take a single lesson.  Continue reading for an update on our term and some exciting things to come!

One of our biggest behind-the-scenes challenges was getting our name official changed.  I won't bore you with details, but we are finally officially "Rotary Club of Greater Sacramento Passport One!"  To everyone we can refer to ourselves at Rotary Passport One.

On March 22nd we had our Partnership Meeting with the Rotary Club of Roseville.  It was a great meeting whereby we inducted two new Members into our Club simultaneously with two Members joining the Roseville Club.  Please welcome Sherie Viencek and Stephanie Pastor to our Club!

Part of our agreement with our Partnership Clubs is to support their fundraisers, events and etc.  It is also an opportunity for us to make a little bit of money to support our ‘zero budget’ Club.  On March 24th Passport One Rotarians volunteer at the Roseville Club’s Seafood Garbolino event. Like usual, we all had a great time while volunteering.

Our next Partnership Meeting is Wednesday April 11th with the Rotary Club of South Placer.  It is a lunch meeting and I am looking forward to seeing those of you that can make it.

EVERYONE (YES!, that includes YOU!) is invited to attend our District Assembly.  It is being held on Saturday April 7th at Natomas High School

Our RYE (Rotary Youth Exchange) students are holding their Culinary Event Sunday April 8th from 12:00 to 3:00? at 2600 Auburn Blvd within the Ballroom at the Ramada Hotel.  They will be providing sample tastings from their country of origin.  Tickets are $25 that go to support the RYE endeavors.

One last item as a reminder to mark your calendars.  We have our Quarterly Meeting scheduled for Thursday May 10th.  6:00pm

Busy-Busy-Busy!  As you can see by the few items that I mentioned above and, as our Club continues to grow, there are more and more activities in which you can participate.  This creates an opportunity to get involved.  It has been said many times: “You get out of Rotary what you put into it”.  I look forward to seeing you all there.

Yours in Rotary,

JoAnne Tanner,

President
