In January 2019, Rotary International's General Secretary John Hewko gave a powerful speech regarding bringing innovation and flexibility into the Rotary model. Rotary Passport One was honored that Mr. Hewko specifically referenced our own club's development and the ways in which we have adapted to meet the needs of new Rotarians. In a few short years, our model of flexibility in meetings and affordable dues has spread to more than a dozen passport clubs around the world. We agree with his concern that Rotary is at a crossroads regarding meeting the needs of our communities. We can choose to innovate to better serve our communities or we can choose to resist change and loose touch with our stated purpose of Service Above Self.
