District Conference Dates – Friday, May 11 to Sunday, May 12

Please plan on arriving in the afternoon (or earlier) on Friday so you can participate in the Beach Party which is from 3:00-6:00 pm.  The conference will wrap up by 11:30 a.m. on Sunday after the brunch session.

When you arrive, you can pick up your registration packet at the hotel in the Regency foyer starting at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.

 

What to Bring and What to Wear

Swimsuit, sunglasses, walking/hiking shoes, bicycle and yoga mat.  Warm clothing/layers for possible cool weather in the evening.

 

Friday Attire:  Casual/beachwear for the beach and Friday night buffet dinner

Saturday Day:  Business/Rotary casual

Saturday Evening:  Cocktail 

Sunday:  Casual

 

Seating

It is encouraged you to sit with other Rotarians and to welcome all to sit at your table, particularly the RYE students.  It is a great way to meet new people, develop new relationships and help newcomers feel welcome.  If you see the RYE student from France, Maeva, please give her a hug for me.

 

Hospitality Suites

Yes, we are having hospitality suites on Friday and Saturday night.  

 

No Club Displays This Year

We are not having club displays this year.  However, you are welcome to talk about your projects, events and fundraisers.  Be sure to attend the Club Project Showcase on Saturday morning.

 

Speech Contest Finals – Saturday Morning

The contest is on Saturday morning after breakfast and the Club Project Showcase.  All 4 speakers are fantastic and you won't want to miss them.

 

Saturday Afternoon Activities

There are many Saturday activities to choose from:  water aerobics with Sara Kooperman; bike riding (bikes can be rented at the hotel if you don’t bring yours); walking/hiking; beach volleyball; slot tournament (you can register on line now on our District website); Go Game (electronic scavenger hunt – register on line); fellowship and service project at hotel.  All activities (except slot tournament) will be co-hosted by RYE students.  They are anxious to meet you and have fun.

 

Saturday Night – Parade of Presidents

You won't want to miss one of the highlights of the weekend.  Cheer on President JoAnne Tanner as she is announced and makes her way up to the stage for recognition with the other Presidents in the District.

 

Sunday Brunch – Best Club Awards, Individual Awards and Roll Call of Clubs    

We have a very busy Sunday program.  Please don’t leave early.  The Best Small, Medium and Large Club Awards will be presented.  The Best Club of the District (Bell Club) will be presented.  Hall of Fame Inductees, Rookie of the Year and Rotarian of the Year also will be presented.   Lastly, we will have the always entertaining Roll Call of Clubs.
