PRESIDENTIAL THOUGHTS
Greetings Rotary Passport Club Member!
As I prepare to leave the office as the first President of the Rotary Passport Club, there are several tasks that I am compelled to complete before leaving you all in the most capable hands of incoming, president Dwight Chambers. Please read on as your assistance is needed.
First and foremost, if you have received a dues invoice, or a statement showing that you currently owe dues for the upcoming year, please pay this invoice or statement balance by no later than June 25
th. According to our bylaws, any member with unpaid invoices after that date will be subject to membership termination. If you have any questions regarding this, please contact me at
michaelreinero@yahoo.com.
Second, please take some time to report any unreported service hours for this past year, from July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016. I will be preparing “Lives Saved” service award certificates for all members of the Rotary Passport Club who completed at least 40 hours of service during this past Rotary year. These certificates will be awarded at the August 26th Membership Mixer. To report your service hours, please use the following weblink:
From now on, use this link EVERY TIME you have service hours to report. You can even put this link on your smart phone. Simply open the email with this newsletter on your phone, click on the link above, then click on the option to “Add to Home Screen”. This will put an APP-LIKE button on your phone you can use each and every time you have service to report. No more forms or paper to scan and email!
If you are looking for service hours to finish out your 2015-2016 Rotary Year volunteering, look no further than our Upcoming Events Calendar.
Third, the leadership of Rotary Passport Club is offering to extend “Lives Saved” status this year to any member who contributes an aggregate total of $400 to the Rotary Foundation before June 30, 2016 through the Rotary International portal –
www.rotary.org. This is less than the $1000 contribution listed in our website as the alternative to providing 40 service hours. Please email me at
michaelreinero@yahoo.com if you have chosen this option so that I can verify your contribution and have your certificate ready for our August 26
th Membership Mixer.
Finally, with approximately 6 other Rotary Districts starting Passport Clubs next year, we will changing our name, but just slightly. To create a consistent brand for Rotary Passport Clubs, and with the elimination of the “Eclub” moniker, our club will be referred to as The Rotary Passport Club of District 5180 beginning July 1.
That’s all for now.
Yours in Rotary,
President Mike
