The first is about how great it is to be a member of the Passport Rotary Club of District 5180.  Most of the traditional Rotary Clubs (what we refer to as the ‘brick and mortar’) have anywhere from one or two specific projects within their club, to a handful projects with the medium to larger clubs.  We are so lucky, as members of Passport, to have access to participate in all the projects offered by other clubs within the District, as well as receive ‘service hours worked’ credit for helping other non-Rotary projects that are vital within our community.  How awesome is that?  Red Cross, Girl & Boy Scouts, Food Banks, Senior Living, and many-many more inclusive of the ‘Africa Hope Fund’ (one of my favorites started by a Fellow Rotarian).  Having so many choices, it makes it a whole lot easier for you to find and make something fit into your busy schedules.  The benefits of such are endless as it creates an opportunity to meet other people, forge new friendships, teach your children the joy of giving of one’s self, contributing to the community inclusive of introducing others to Rotary and etc.; all the reasons you became a Rotarian. 

Secondly, is our upcoming District Foundation Dinner on Saturday October 22^nd.  This is what I refer to as the celebration of the ‘results’ of you, and our District member’s generosity.  For over 20 years the District Foundation hosts a special dinner recognizing the District Clubs and its Members for their giving to the Rotary Foundation. And, more importantly, they show us the benefit and impact we've made around the world due to what you and your Fellow Rotarians have contributed throughout the year.  This has become one of the most exciting and fun events of the year.  It's a chance to get all ‘gussied up (Black Tie optional) and enjoy fellowship, good food, great fun, and live entertainment.  Please check out the flyer that you should have received via email.  Passport is reserving 2 tables of 10 (and we can add more) so that we can get the costs down to $62.50 per person. Please contact Leigh-Ann Reinero before September 29th for reservations and payment for our reserved Passport tables.  I would love to see all of our Passport Members at this fantastic evening gala.
