PRESIDENTIAL THOUGHTS
Greetings Rotary Passport Club Member!
MEMBERSHIP – Two New Members Joined! – I am very pleased to announce the addition of two new members to our fine organization.
Alea Baron – Private Practice Psychotherapist – Alea is new to Rotary personally, but her mother and sponsor, Anne, is a long time member of the Rotary Club of Point West. We are happy to have her among our ranks!
Thomas “TR” Bietsch – Chief Technology Officer – Helio Energy Solutions – TR is a transferring Rotarian from the Rotary Club of Lincoln. He had explained to his fellow Rotaian and Sponsor, Clark Osterhout, that work constraints might force him to leave Rotary. That’s when Clark introduced him to the Passport Club. We are glad he has stayed in the Rotary family and found us.
MEMBERSHIP MIXER COMING UP ON MAY 25, 2016 AT 6:00 PM – Speaking of new members, we will be inducting another great group of new members at our next Membership Mixer on May 25, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:30 pm at the Ramada Sacramento – 2600 Auburn Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95821. The cost is $30 per person in advance. You will be receiving a Yapsody invite in your email shortly. New Members, please pass this invite along to your Sponsors so they can be there to celebrate with you and all of us!

There are 5 co-director positions available – Service, Administration, Membership, Public Image and Foundation. CLUB STATISTICS – I have compiled a sample of statistics on our club for you to take a look at. So many people ask me about our club, so I keep these stats up regularly. They just can’t believe our success in so many areas that Rotary International is trying to be successful in. I have uploaded the report and a link to the 3rd Quarter Report is to the left.
ROTARY COUNCIL ON LEGISLATION ELIMINIATES “ECLUB” FROM VOCABULARY – The Rotary Council on Legislation, which governs all Rotary Clubs, has voted to get rid of the word “ECLUB” to describe clubs that may be different from brick and mortar clubs that meet in person every week. Although we have been working under the Rotary Passport Club as our public name, our official name has always been “The Rotary E-Club of District 5180 Greater Sacramento”. A mouthful, I know. So happy that Districts that want to adopt the Passport Club format can have a name that reflects who they are!
SERVICE PROJECTS – See The Upcoming Events Calendar – Our Service Director, JoAnne Tanner, has tirelessly filled our Upcoming Events Calendar with every event she can lay her hands on. If you are feeling that need to reach out and help a local Rotary club with an upcoming service project, check it out!
