PRESIDENTIAL THOUGHTS

Greetings Rotary Passport Club Member!

MEMBERSHIP MIXER ON FEB 1 – The next Membership Mixer will be held on February 1, 2016 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the Fair Oaks Community Clubhouse (7997 California Ave, Fair Oaks, CA 95628), and it will be a joint meeting with the Rotary Club of Fair Oaks, one of the best clubs in District 5180 for the past 5 years…and growing!  This will be the first meeting where we will not be requiring payment in advance.  The meeting will cost $15 payable at the door. Please RSVP to the Evite invitation so that we can give the good folks at the Fair Oaks Club a solid headcount.

We will be inducting approximately 20 new members, and installing two new officers, so come out and meet the new folks!!

NEW MEMBERS – Since my last newsletter, we have another new member. Please welcome…

Jamee Horning – Executive Director, Seniors First, Inc. – Classification: Nonprofit Executive – Sponsor: Christie Harrison (Passport)

CRABS, CRABS, WHO’S GOT CRABS?!?!? – One of the most popular ways for Rotary Clubs to raise money in District 5180 is by having a Crab Feed.  Although this year may be challenging with much of the crab “crop” not “ready for prime time”, Clubs are still going to give it a go.  Two such Crab Feeds to have on your radar, if you love “all-you-can-eat” feasts of the oceanic crustaceans are the Rotary Club of Roseville Annual Garbolino Seafood Dinner (January 23, 2016) and the Rotary Club of Fair Oaks Annual Crab Feed (February 20, 2016).  You can find tickets by searching their respective websites.

SERVICE PROJECTS – See The Upcoming Events Calendar – Our Service Director, JoAnne Tanner, has tirelessly filled our Upcoming Events Calendar with every event she can lay her hands on.  If you are feeling that need to reach out and help a local Rotary club with an upcoming service project, check it out!

TURN IN Service Reports for December (or the Year to Date) – This month, I will be posting a progress report on our member’s quest to “Save Lives” through their community service hours and donations.  The only way I can accurately do that is to have members submit their hours to me at michaelreinero@yahoo.com.  I will be publishing a list of everyone’s hours-to-date this month.

That’s all for now. Enjoy the rest of your week!

Yours in Rotary,

President Mike
