PRESIDENTIAL THOUGHTS

Greetings Rotary Passport Club Member!

NO STRESS ZONE! – Just a reminder, Rotary Passport Club is a “No Stress Zone”.  A service club should not be a worry or a stress.  It should be a day brightener.  Knowing that you are a part of an organization focused on service “On Demand”!  That means you give when and where you can.  That may mean that you don’t end up giving for a long time, but, believe me, the time will eventually come…IF YOU STICK WITH IT.  Don’t quit. Don’t give up!  We need you.  The Greater Sacramento community needs you. The world needs you.  If I didn’t state it clearly enough…you are needed!  J  If you quit, then there is absolutely NO chance of you benefiting yourself with the wonderful feeling of giving back, and there is NO chance of you benefiting anyone else.  I have a great feeling every day I wake up knowing I have nearly 80 other people in this Club who are exposed to service opportunities every day.  That’s 80 chances for help.  And more people keep joining us every week.  This is a “work at your own pace” club, and even if you have not been able to give as much as you wanted, intended or hoped to, there is always time in the FUTURE…if you stick with it.  (If you need motivation on any given day, just call my cell 916-802-6895 and I’ll pump you up!)

ROTARY 101 – Well, it’s official!  Your Club President (that would be me) has been invited to be an instructor at the upcoming DISTRICT 5180 TRAINING ASSEMBLY – April 2, 2016 from 8 am to 1:30 pm at Inderkum High School in Natomas.  I will be teaching Rotary 101 to all Rotarians that are NEW to our District in the last 12 months.  That would include almost all of you!  So, put this FREE event on your calendar and plan on having a great time learning about Rotary and all the fun things you can do now and in the future.  Plus, there will be cookies!

SERVICE PROJECTS – See The Upcoming Events Calendar – Our Service Director, JoAnne Tanner, has tirelessly filled our Upcoming Events Calendar with every event she can lay her hands on.  If you are feeling that need to reach out and help a local Rotary club with an upcoming service project, check it out!

TURN IN – Service Reports for January (or the Year to Date) – Please continue to turn in these reports as soon as you have hours.  I am extremely proud of our club, having over a quarter of its members already at their 40 hours for the year.

That’s all for now.

Yours in Rotary,

President Mike
