Pirates Raise Funds for Rotary
William Bowen – Rotary Club of Roseville
(Keith McLane, Kat Maudru, and Capt. Jack Sparrow aka Past President Mike Reinero, l to r)
When I was asked to chair the Rotary Club of Roseville’s Garbolino Seafood Dinner last year, I knew that one of the keys to making it a success was to get Rotarians from other clubs involved in the event either as guests or volunteers. Luckily, I was blessed Saturday to have the Rotarians from the Passport Club step up in both regards to make this our most successful event ever! Everyone I spoke to mentioned how smoothly the event went and how much fun they had. I may have helped to organize the event, but I know that the real praise for the event belongs to the volunteers who put their valuable time and sweat into the evening. Your actions moved me, and I would like to thank all of you who attended our event and who volunteered to help us prepare food, set up tables, work the games and auctions, or even dressed up to play the Master of Ceremonies!
Rotary is all about fellowship in the pursuit of service, and it seems to me that we are strongest when we support each other in our endeavors. It’s been a pleasure for me to attend your events over the last year, and I hope we can trick… I mean convince more of you to join in our projects in the future. If you ever need help for an event, project, or anything else, let us know. And I’d like to personally invite each and every one of you to join us for lunch on Thursdays, so both of our clubs can build even more relationships and make each other stronger for the future. Thank you again.
