Pirates Raise Funds for Rotary
William Bowen – Rotary Club of Roseville
(Keith McLane, Kat Maudru, and Capt. Jack Sparrow aka Past President Mike Reinero, l to r)

When I was asked to chair the Rotary Club of Roseville’s Garbolino Seafood Dinner last year, I knew that one of the keys to making it a success was to get Rotarians from other clubs involved in the event either as guests or volunteers.  Luckily, I was blessed Saturday to have the Rotarians from the Passport Club step up in both regards to make this our most successful event ever!  Everyone I spoke to mentioned how smoothly the event went and how much fun they had.  I may have helped to organize the event, but I know that the real praise for the event belongs to the volunteers who put their valuable time and sweat into the evening.  Your actions moved me, and I would like to thank all of you who attended our event and who volunteered to help us prepare food, set up tables, work the games and auctions, or even dressed up to play the Master of Ceremonies!

Rotary is all about fellowship in the pursuit of service, and it seems to me that we are strongest when we support each other in our endeavors.  It’s been a pleasure for me to attend your events over the last year, and I hope we can trick… I mean convince more of you to join in our projects in the future.  If you ever need help for an event, project, or anything else, let us know.  And I’d like to personally invite each and every one of you to join us for lunch on Thursdays, so both of our clubs can build even more relationships and make each other stronger for the future.  Thank you again.

Join us for our March Social Mixer at De Vere’s Irish Pub in Mid Town Sacramento on Thursday, March 23rd.  As in the past, our Social Mixers are pay as you go… and a lot of fun!  We will have a section of the Pub reserved from 5pm to 7pm (or as long as we can hang).  Put it on your calendar – 6 days after the official St. Patrick’s Day – but who’s counting!

FUTURE ROTARY COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITY

POINT WEST ROTARY AMERICAN RIVER PARKWAY WORK DAY
RESCHEDULED TO APRIL 8TH

THEY SAID IT COULDN'T BE DONE ...AND THEY WERE RIGHT. (RATS!)

The Point West Rotary American River Parkway Work Day scheduled for March 4th has been postponed to APRIL 8TH.  Although water levels are down from two weeks ago, the American River is still running dangerously high and fast.  In addition, the river bank remains saturated with water and is exceedingly muddy.
April 8th is the parkway's "SPRING CLEANUP".  Point West Rotary will be coordinating clean-up and other work on that date between Bike Trail Mileposts 7 & 8 across from CSUS.  MORE INFORMATION WILL FOLLOW.

Sorry for the inconvenience.  I guess this just confirms that you should never bet against Mother Nature.  She (ALWAYS) holds all the cards!!!!

Regards,
DAN HALL
