Centennial Dinner with Rotary International President John Germ

What a great night to enjoy the company of fellow Rotarians in Passport (JoAnne Tanner, Sam Anderson, Pat Braziel, Leigh-Ann Reinero, Janice Gage, Greg Dixon, Cindy & Chris Berta) and in District 5180 and listen to RI President, John Germ talk about all the good the Rotary Foundation does around the world.   We also had the opportunity to hear about a new Rotary focus...Trafficking.  Brian Gladden and PDG Bob Deering gave a compelling speech about why this is such an important project for Rotary to get behind and make a change.  Because Sacramento is such a hot spot for trafficking, Brian and Bob have begun working with local organizations and hospitals about how Rotary can assist with education and help those who have escaped.  There is much work to be done and I'm sure more information to come.

Time to Report Your Service Hours

The end of the Rotary Year will come to a close at the end of June.  If you are short on hours, check out our Events list.  If you've been unsure how to report your hours or what to report, then keep reading.

First:  Not sure what you can report?  Here's some helpful hints:
  • Attend a Rotary Passport or another Rotary Club's meeting
  • Attend a Rotary Passport Social Mixer
  • Help another Rotary Club with a service project or fundraiser
  • Give Blood in the name of Rotary Passport
  • Volunteer at a local school or non-profit
  • Lead a Scouting Troop
  • Serve on the Board of Directors for Passport or another non-profit's board
These activities can count towards each member's service hour goal of 40 hours per Rotary year (July 1 - June 30). If you need more help coming up with ideas to meet your goal, please see the Lives Saved page on our website.

Also, don't forget to submit your hours using the link below, so we can keep track of your hours.
