Words from Our President (August)

My first official meeting of our club is coming up August 10th and so far we have a great crowd that has RSVP'd. If you haven't RSVP'd yet, make sure to register at the link below. Remember, meetings are included in your dues, so you just get to show up and have fun!

One of my goals this year is to get everyone connected on FB. Look for members and Add them as a friend. Also make sure to like our FB page (click below) so you have a way of staying connected with everything that is going on with the club.

Lunar Lunacy Needs Our Help!!!

Point West Rotary is having one of its biggest fundraisers on Saturday night and they need more help!

Several of us will be there to act as Beacons and help with checking in. If you have a little time to spare and want to have some fun on a fabulous summer night in Sacramento, come on out and help! Janet Meredith is their volunteer coordinator and she can email her at lunar.janet@gmail.com.

Passport Rotarians Make a Difference in Haiti

We can be very proud of our Passport club members Jim Quinney and Bob Herne. They recently returned from a trip to Thomasique Haiti where they were part of a team that participated in a Rotary International Service project. The Haitian village of Thomasique is very poor with no clean water, no sewage or garbage systems, no electricity and only one small school. Because the school had no electricity, the purpose of the trip was to deliver light strips that were powered by solar panels to the schools. The Rotary Club of Roseville and the Rotary Club of South Placer partnered in providing funds for the trip.

Fun at the Foothill Highlands Estate Sale

Our partnering club, The Foothill Highlands had a wildly successful Estate Sale! There was so much to offer their customers from knick-knacks to tool & kitchen items to furniture. Mary Mecklenburg and I had a great time helping out their club. All the proceeds will go towards local projects and their customers were happy to "buy-for-a-cause." The best part, I made new friends!!!
