I would like to thank everyone for the fantastic turnout at our Passport Rotary Club Quarterly Mixer/Meeting.  It was packed with District Dignitaries, Rotarians from other Rotary Clubs, Family, Friends and, of course, our Members.  PP Michael Reinero gave a flawless introduction of all.

It was quite a celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Rotary International Foundation with special decorations, center pieces inclusive of cake and champagne!

I would like to give special recognition and a big ‘Thank You!’ to the lady who orchestrated the entire event-  Carol Langley, long time Rotarian, Passport Board Member and our Foundation Chair.  She really made this event special with her talent, time, enthusiasm and dedication.  Carol and her team that assisted her (Leigh-Ann Reinero, Christie Harrison, JoAnne Tanner, Michael Reinero and others) did a beautiful job with all of the decorations that Carol made.

Carol also educated us about the Rotary Foundation, Paul Harris and the Paul Harris Society.  She along with Kathy Clemens, the District Chair for the Paul Harris Society presented earned awards including a Paul Harris to Elaine VanOverbeek's grandson, Bob.

Our Guest Speaker and Fellow Rotarian (and one of Carol’s best friends), Michelle Mutoza shared information about her trip to Ethiopia to immunize against Polio.

Our Club continues to grow! Through Membership Chair Bill Wittich’s ongoing efforts, we welcomed Mary Mecklenburg, Deb Milios, Chip Schumacher, Alan Harry, Cathy Harry, Bob Herne, and TR Bietsch into our Club. This is the first class of inductees that will be participating in our new Red Dot program.   We look forward to seeing those red dots turn blue.

Please remember, it is through all of our efforts as Passport Club Members to share the word about Rotary and our Club.  If you know someone that would like to give back to their community, invite them to our Mixers or to visit another Club with you. It might just change their lives.

Several announcements were made.  In brief:

More information and details will be posted in our upcoming Passport Newsletters.

We are little more than halfway through our year.  It is the tireless efforts of your Board of Directors that keeps our Club moving forward and growing.  Next month, PE JoAnne will be off to San Jose for PETS (President Elect Training).  She is currently putting together, developing and procuring her Board and Committee Members.  If you are interested in participating, let her know.  She will welcome your involvement.  As always, we welcome you to get involved and join us in the fun.

Until next time…

Cheers!

~Dwight.
